Drive-By-Wire

An electronic system that involves the elimination of a direct mechanical link between the throttle pedal and engine. Throttle input is electronically fed to an on-board engine control unit (ECU) that then manages the behaviour of the engine accordingly. The system is also known as Fly-By-Wire
