Slow down around people. But why??


If you hit an adult pedestrian at:

- 30kph, there's a 9% chance you will kill him;
- at 40kph, it's 25%
- at 50kph it jumps disproportionately to 83% that you will kill him. (It's higher for kids)

So aim to keep below 40kph around schools, playgrounds, residences, bus stops, parking lots, pasar malams or any place with people around.

Be especially careful on roads with parked cars, as kids may run out from between them and you won't be able to see them until it's too late.

Its good to know, to be honest i don't drive around at that speed. Well I will definitely be more cautious the next time I drive within these areas.
